Destiny 2 fans are still reeling from the news that developer Bungie laid off around 220 people in July, or roughly 17% of its workforce. Speaking on an earnings call, Sony president Hiroki Totoki discussed the Destiny studio’s restructure in greater detail, stating that it came from a desire to “optimize overall studio structure.”
Per a report of the call posted to social media, Totoki said that the back-office functions of Bungie will be integrated into other Sony studios, and that the studio’s resources will be focused on Destiny 2 and the Marathon reboot. His comments would seem to indicate that Sony is taking a more-active role in the studio’s direction, making it a more-integrated part of the existing constellation of SIE studios.
Anyone who’s ever been told to “respect your elders” will now get the chance, as Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration commemorates the full 50-year history of the developer.
Atari has partnered with Digital Eclipse–whose last release was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection back in August–to restore and compile over 100 games from the Atari library into one package. The collection features games from every console Atari manufactured, including for the first time on modern consoles the Lynx and Jaguar.

Read moreIt may not come as too much of a surprise, given that the Witcher 4 was announced as the start of “a new saga,” but CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it is indeed “thinking about” more games for the series, Eurogamer reports.
The new information came out in CD Projekt’s latest earnings report, when CEO Adam Kiciński was asked about the use of the word “saga” in the early marketing for Witcher 4. “Like the first saga was three games… we are in pre-production of the first game from the second Witcher saga,” Kiciński explained, adding that the studio is “thinking about more than one game.”

Adjust your settings
Modern Warfare 3 gives plenty of customization in the menus. There are tons of settings for audio, visual, and input devices that you’ll likely want to change for a better experience. For example, some of the game’s default visual settings aren’t great for multiplayer. Turning off things like motion blur, film grain, and depth of field will greatly help with visibility. There are also settings like changing the field of view to zoom out and see more information on the map. If you’re on console, we have a recommended setti…
Read moreThe head of Blizzard’s human resources department became the second executive to leave the company today in the wake of a recently filed discrimination lawsuit. As reported by Bloomberg, Jesse Meschuk, the company’s head of global human resources, has now departed the company, shortly after Blizzard president J. Allen Brack also left the company.
An Activision Blizzard spokesperson confirmed to GameSpot that “Jesse Meschuk is no longer with the company,” but declined to comment further. There has been no official word regarding whether the departures of Meschuk and Brack are a result of Activision Blizzard taking action.
It also appears that Meschuk deleted his Twitter account, although it’s unknown exactly when that happened. Meschuk was not named directly in the lawsuit like Brack was; however, the lawsuit alleged that Blizzard’s HR department was complicit in the harassment of employees.
The lawsuit, filed by the California Departme…
Read moreGame developer and filmmaker Josef Fares is known for being outspoken, and now one of his most memorable outbursts has been immortalized in his latest game, It Takes Two. It has been discovered that Fares’ memorable “f**k the Oscars” comment from The Game Awards back in 2017 is featured in the game as an Easter egg.
Games media veteran Geoff Keighley, the host of The Game Awards and the person standing next to Fares as he said the line during the show, shared a clip of the Easter egg on Twitter. It simply plays what sounds like the direct audio from Fares’ speech at The Game Awards, which is pretty great. Have a listen for yourself:

Read moreWhen Avengers: The Kang Dynasty arrives in cinemas in May 2025, it’ll mark the end of a six-year wait to see Marvel’s mightiest heroes reassemble, double the length of time that occurred between the first three Avengers films. According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the reason why such a large gap exists between Avengers films is due to each new Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe being built on a larger foundation of team-up movies and series.
“The truth is, when we were doing Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3, there were less projects over more years,” Feige said to MTV News (via Variety). “They were smaller projects and individual character stories, and it felt appropriate at that point, that after every two or three years that it took for a phase, we would do an Avengers film. Avengers films really should be the capper to a saga.
According to Feige, the need to finish each Phase with an Avengers film felt less necessary with big team-up movies such as Docto…
Read moreIf you haven’t seen Deadpool and Wolverine yet, we’ll refrain from stating how the film references Logan in both hilarious and poignant ways. Logan was originally intended as Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine performance before he changed his mind and returned for the third Deadpool movie. Now, Logan director James Mangold is weighing in on what he sees as a big problem for shared movie universes like the MCU.
“I don’t do multiverses,” said Mangold during an interview with Rolling Stone. “It’s weird that I’ve even worked in the world of IP entertainment because I don’t like multi-movie universe-building. It’s the enemy of storytelling. The death of storytelling. It’s more interesting to people the way the Legos connect than the way the story works in front of us.”
Mangold has previously directed The Wolverine and Logan, as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. But the surprising thing about the director’s aversion to multi-movie universes is that he’s lined up for …
